AnnualRing Diary
Start writing whenever you want. Your words stay with you.
A quiet, reliable, local-first private diary. Your entries stay on your device and your own iCloud. An optional AI offers observations you can verify and correct — the longer you write, the better it understands you.

What it does
🗒️
One entry a day
A focused writing page, one entry per day. Tapping “write” continues today’s entry.
💭
Auto-saved draft
A single global draft saves itself as you type, on background and on exit.
✍️
Plain text first
Just words and line breaks. No markdown, no rich text, no title field. Body-first.
🖼️
Photo attachments
Up to 5 photos per entry. Location EXIF is stripped on import.
🔭
History & search
A reverse-chronological timeline with year/month filters and full-text search of saved entries.
🌱
Home look-back
Five modes: random · this day in past years · most recent · a while ago · timeline.
🌦️
Optional weather & writing place
Weather uses your location only when enabled or refreshed. A writing place is saved only when you add it, as editable text — never coordinates.
🔒
App Lock & blur
Face ID / passcode on launch, and your content is always blurred in the app switcher.
☁️
iCloud sync
Local-first. Optional sync through your own iCloud; works fully offline and resumes when online.
⚡
System writing entry
A nianlun:// URL scheme and a lock-screen widget jump straight into today’s writing.
🔔
Gentle reminders
Up to three chosen times. Light nudges — no streaks, no “you broke your chain”.
🌿
Optional AI observations
A corrective feedback loop: verifiable observations and structured chats, plus a versioned “memory about you” you can view, correct, delete, or turn off.
What it deliberately doesn’t do
- No social feed, public posting, or content stream
- No check-in streaks, makeup-days, or badges
- No location history, map views, or location-based memories
- No AI diagnosis, labeling, or impersonating a real person
